Crime Scene

So, today I got up to goto church and at the end of my driveway was a bunch of police cars blocking the road. So I stopped and waited for some direction and got none. So I tried turning right, which was apparently the wrong decision. An officer immediatley stopped me and said, "This is a crime scene! Not something so you can just get out early!" I'm not too sure what that even meant, but oh well. So I went around the block.
Coming back from church the scene was still there so i parked next door and tried walking to my apartment. But then an officer got worried and made me come over to him and explain where exactly I was going.
So, I grabbed my work uniform to head downtown and have lunch with Alexandra before work. By the time I came out the scene was clearing out.
After lunch I tried google'ing to find out what the scene was all about, but I apparently suck at google'ing. So Alexandra tried, and she found a short article. Apparently a man was hit by a car outside of a bar at ike 3 a.m. and he died on the scene. Thats all it said. I can't believe I slept through all the sirens and things that would have been going on. Its also a little bit scary.

Look at your fat!

I have a habit, that when someone says something to me, I repeat it back like..."You're a_(what they said_." So today Alexandra was cooking dinner and I was just walking by the kitchen to sit on the couch and she said, "wow, look at all this fat." (in reference to the corn beef) and I automatically said, "look at all your fat!" oops. This comment was immediately followed by a big hug and laughter. LOL

4 day weekend (not quite)

So this weekend was my 4 day (Friday-Monday off). But I, as well as the rest of the ELT-T's on my crew, had to come into work Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. I chose Sunday. So yesterday I went in to do my pracfac. I had the pracfacs done but my most recent one was a 2.6 and it needs to be a 2.8 or better. So I had to do this in order to do the final checkchem. Oh well. Yesterday did go well though. I felt good about it. I am still a little "iffy" on the procedure, but I have all of the chemistry analyses down pretty well. And now I have today off. Last day off then back to work Tuesday afternoon. Oh and I should be able to get some more info about my orders to Hawaii and how they are going to ship my truck and stuff. And IF they will ship my bike. Cross my fingers!

Day 4 of Tweek!

Today I had to stay late to do a Primary sample. Then the s**t hit the fan...well kind of. Stuff happened, plant conditions changed, and that prevented us from sampling. Because we refused to start past 1800.
Also, this is my 4 day weekend and I have to come in on sunday to do a sample. Then on Tuesday I have to do my primary check chem. I would have been doing that Sunday, but since today didn't work out...

Today was our last dance lesson. :( But, we will continue practicing and going to group lessons. and we have 1 free dance lessons thanks to Dale! Thanks bud! And we may also pay for 1 or 2 more dance lessons to help us iron out the "kinks".

I Love you Alexandra!

ELT COMP!

On Wednesday I took my ELT comprehensive exam. It was not easy. It is a 4 hour exam and I didn't take any bathroom breaks. (in the Navy we call those head calls) I even had to get a 20 minute extension to finish the exam without rushing the questions too much. I then left, because I was exhausted and my CLELT said he would call with my grade.
So 1630 came around...and no call, so I figured I wasn't getting my grade yet because it was after regular working hours. Then at 1700 my phone rang...work number on caller ID.!!! I got a 3.03 and didn't fail any sections! I am very happy about this! YAY!

A Day Of Failing

Today started with my 50% board. It was rough. I had a lot of fundamental knowledge but lacked the ability to go into further detail. Some of it I knew, but I was nervous and was rushing myself. I ended up failing...so I got a remedial for that and need to study a lot for my COMP.
Then I had a check chem and failed that too because I forgot an important part...so now I have to re-do that.
On a better note, I woke up on time and got to work on time!

Stupid Clock Games

So, if you haven't listened to Dane Cook's bit about being late for work you need to listen to it. It kind of happened to me this morning. I pushed the snooze button a few too many times and at 0530 I had no more alarms go off. and...I fell asleep. I woke up real slowly, rolled over to look at the clock, and I was thinking, "Didn't I already wake up, I should be showered, shaved and eating breakfast." My eyes starting focusing and I could see (**15) on the clock. "uh-oh please be 0515...oh but please don't be 0715..." my eyes finished focusing...0615! thats usually when I'm walking out the door. I jumped out of bed threw on my uniform and jacket, grabbed my lunch...crap...I need to shave! ran to bathroom, shaved FAST, somehow I didn't cut myself. Got in my truck and drove to work. Made it to Quarters at 0656...it starts at 7. Well I would have been to Quarters on time except I couldn't find my crew, turns out quarters started early because they gt called in because the crew on shift couldn't fix chemistry to get it in specification. In the end it didnt matter, except that I missed breakfast, only got a vitamin...and I also didnt get to drink any coffee and had urinalysis. So I had to chug water, chug water, chug water, til I could finally pee. I got exactly 45ml which is the minimum requirement!

this whole experience reminds me of a Dane Cook bit. Check out this animated version of it on youtube, click here.
